WHEREAS, Lewis County established a petty cash fund in the amount of $220 for District Court via Resolution 81-305 to provide change for payment of court fines and fees; and

WHEREAS, District Court has experienced a need for additional petty cash due to an increase in fees and segregation of cash-handling duties; and

WHEREAS, the office requests an additional $1,000 in petty cash to accommodate three cash drawers and the excess to be held in the court safe.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners hereby rescinds Resolution 81-305, which authorized $220 in petty cash for District Court; and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the District Court petty cash fund will be increased to a total of $1,220, and the additional cash will be requested from the Lewis County Treasurer’s Office.
