WHEREAS, Lewis County Code (LCC) 2.11.030(3) states that each vacancy on the Planning Commission shall be filled by appointment by the Chair of the Board of County Commissioners from a list of not less than one nominee residing in the respective county district of the vacating member, except the at-large position which may be filled by one nomimee from any district; and

WHEREAS, LCC 2.11.030(5) states that members shall serve the full term of four years for district positions and three years for the at-large position and that no member may serve more than three consecutive full terms; and

WHEREAS, LCC 2.11.030(5) states that members who are appointed to fill a vacated existing term that has not expired shall complete the existing term, which shall not be considered a full term; and

WHEREAS, the one at-large position is filled by Roger Moore whose term expires on December 31, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Roger Moore, who was appointed to fill an unexpired term for the at-large position, has indicated his willingness to be reappointed to the Planning Commission, and this would be his first full term; and

WHEREAS, it appears to be in the public interest to retain Roger Moore as Planning Commission representing the at-large position on the Planning Commission.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Lewis County, Washington, hereby reappoints Roger Moore to the Lewis County Planning Commission, representing the at-large position, for a term of three years expiring on December 31, 2027.
