Resolution
AUTHORIZE THE CHAIR OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS (BOCC) TO SIGN A LOCAL AGENCY AGREEMENT AND FEDERAL AID PROJECT PROSPECTUS WITH WSDOT FOR THE VAN ORNUM CRK AT BUNKER CRK RD (MP 2.681) FISH PASSAGE PROJECT, COUNTY MAINTENANCE PROJECT (CMP) 1610
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 23-3701, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) adopted the 2024-2029 Six-Year Transportation Improvement Program; and
WHEREAS, the Van Ornum Crk at Bunker Crk Rd (MP 2.681) fish passage project, County Maintenance Project (CMP) 1610, is listed as priority number 2 using Promoting Resilient Operations for Transformative, Efficient, and Cost-saving Transportation Program (PROTECT) federal funding ($1,768,000), with no local matching requirement for the project. This project will remove and replace a fish barrier culverts, and complete other related work; and
WHEREAS, the conditions of receiving PROTECT federal funding requires a Local Agency Agreement and Federal Aid Project Prospectus signed by the Chair of the BOCC prior to commencing the preliminary engineering phase of this project; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Director and County Engineer have reviewed a Local Agency Agreement and Federal Aid Project Prospectus between Lewis County and WSDOT for the Van Ornum Crk at Bunker Crk Rd (MP 2.681) fish passage project, County Maintenance Project (CMP) 1610, and recommend approval by the BOCC.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the BOCC has determined that proceeding with the Van Ornum Crk at Bunker Crk Rd (MP 2.681) fish passage project, County Maintenance Project (CMP) 1610, to be in the best public interest and hereby approve the Local Agency Agreement and Federal Aid Project Prospectus, and the Chair of the BOCC is authorized to sign the same.
