AWARD A CONTRACT TO CERAGON NETWORKS, INC. FOR THE PUBLIC SAFETY MICROWAVE NETWORK PROJECT
WHEREAS, Lewis County VHF radio infrastructure requires upgrades and replacement of outdated equipment to support the functions of law enforcement and first responder interoperable communication; and
WHEREAS, Congressional funding was approved in December 2022 as part of the Department of Justice Office of Community Oriented Policing Services Technology and Equipment Program, and Lewis County was awarded $2,800,000 in 2023; and
WHEREAS, Lewis County issued an request for proposals for a Public Safety Radio Microwave Network in February 2024 and received three proposals on March 25, 2024; and
WHEREAS, Ceragon Networks Inc. of Plano, Texas, was awarded the project on May 7, 2024, by the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) via Resolution 24-132 and subsequent contract negotiations were completed.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the BOCC approves a contract with Ceragon Networks, Inc. for the Public Safety Radio Microwave Network and authorizes the 911 Director to sign on behalf of the BOCC.
