APPROVE AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN LEWIS COUNTY AND THE WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY DISPATCH SERVICES
WHEREAS, Lewis County 911 Communications currently provides emergency dispatch services to all Lewis County law enforcement jurisdictions; and
WHEREAS, the Washington State Department of Corrections (DOC) local office works in jurisdictions served by Lewis County 911 Communications, both independently and in cooperation with local law enforcement; and
WHEREAS, having Lewis County 911 Communications provide limited emergency dispatch services to the local DOC officers working within Lewis County law enforcement jurisdictions would enhance situational awareness and safety for both local law enforcement and DOC officers.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the Board of County Commissioners hereby authorizes the 911 Director to sign an interlocal agreement to provide emergency dispatch services to the local office of the Washington State Department of Corrections.
