Resolution

WHEREAS, Public Works has listed fish passage restoration projects on the maintenance program; and

WHEREAS, Public Works has been awarded grant funding by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) 2022 Culvert Aquatic Organism Passage (AOP) Program for the Allen Creek at Newaukum Valley Road MP 2.366 Fish Passage Design project, CMP 2334, in the amount of $211,563.70; and

WHEREAS, the Allen Creek at Newaukum Valley Road MP 2.366 Fish Passage Design project proposes to provide a final design to remove an existing fish passage barrier at river mile 0.56 of Allen Creek and replace it with a fish passable structure; and

WHEREAS, the Public Works Director has approved and signed the grant agreement with FHWA for acceptance of the 2022 Culvert AOP Program.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has found that the Grant Agreement between FHWA and Lewis County Public Works for the Allen Creek at Newaukum Valley Road MP 2.366 Fish Passage Design project, CMP 2334, in the amount of $211,563.70 is in the best public interest and ratifies the agreement.
