Resolution

WHEREAS, the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has received a request to modify the current salary schedule for administrative positions within the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office; and

WHEREAS, the administrative positions in question directly supervise or are responsible for positions represented under collective bargaining contracts; and

WHEREAS, Resolutions 08-201 and 23-109 established rates of pay for the Sheriff’s Office administrative positions; and

WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of Lewis County to rescind Resolutions 08-201 and 23-109 and establish a process that streamlines the administrative pay scale, without changing the financial impact to the county budget.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the BOCC hereby rescinds Resolutions 08-201 and 23-109 and establishes the following Lewis County Sheriff’s Office administration salary schedule to streamline the pay scale for the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office administrative positions of Undersheriff, Chief Criminal Deputy, Chief Civil Deputy, Chief Corrections, Operations Lieutenant and Corrections Captain, effective June 1, 2024: 

 

POSITION	SALARY
Undersheriff	9.5% > Bureau Chief Salary
Chief Criminal Deputy	9.5% > Operations Lieutenant Compensation
Chief Civil Deputy	9.5% > Operations Lieutenant Compensation
Chief Corrections	9.5% > Operations Lieutenant Compensation
Operations Lieutenant	20% > base salary of Operations Sergeant
Corrections Captain	23% > base salary of Corrections Lieutenant

 

with the percentages based off the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) salary schedule; and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the term base salary for this resolution does not include shift differential, longevity or education.
