Summary:

Approve a contract between Lewis County Public Works and Otak, Inc. to provide engineering and environmental services for the Senn Road MP 0.89 Bridge Scour, CRP 2159R, in the amount of $229,842.32, and Wildwood Road MP 10.14 Bridge Scour, CRP 2159S, in the amount of $259,877.10. An RFP for Hydraulic Engineering Services for both sites was advertised in The Chronicle on September 14 and 21, 2023, and re-advertised on October 26 and November 2, 2023.

Resolution

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 23-233, Directors, Administrators or their designees may sign procurement contracts, amendments and change orders that total or create a cumulative project total of $50,000 to $350,000, provided that the contract or amendment is approved by the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) via resolution; and

WHEREAS, Lewis County Public Works desires to procure a consultant to develop scour mitigation countermeasure plans for two (2) federally funded scour critical bridge projects in Lewis County, Washington: Senn Road Bridge MP .089 and Wildwood Road Bridge MP 10.14; and

WHEREAS, Lewis County Public Works issued an RFP for Hydraulic Engineering Services for two sites in Lewis County in The Chronicle on September 14 and 21, 2023, and re-advertised on October 26 and November 2, 2023; and

WHEREAS, two proposals were received on November 17, 2023. Otak Inc. was selected as the most qualified applicant. The Public Works Director has awarded a consultant contract to Otak Inc. for the Senn MP 0.89 Bridge Scour, CRP 2159R, and the Wildwood MP 10.14 Bridge Scour, CRP 2159S, hydraulic engineering services.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the consultant agreements with Otak Inc. are hereby ratified by the Board of County Commissioners.
