WHEREAS, Lewis County established a petty cash fund in the amount of $200 for the Animal Shelter, general fund department 052, via Resolution No. 18-298 to provide change for the tills at the shelter; and

WHEREAS, the Animal Shelter has experienced a need for additional petty cash to cover the four existing cash drawers. Cash on hand is necessary to make change for payments as the location of the shelter is not close enough to make change at a financial institution and the operating hours of the shelter extend beyond typical banking hours.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners rescinds Resolution 18-298 authorizing $200 in petty cash for the Animal Shelter; and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Lewis County Animal Shelter petty cash fund will be increased to a total of $600 and the additional cash will be requested from the Lewis County Treasurer’s Office.
