Resolution
APPROVE A CONTRACT WITH CANDACE SANDERS FOR COURT FACILITATOR SERVICES FOR FAMILY COURT CASES
WHEREAS, the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) approved Resolution 93-707 to create a Family Services facilitator program funded by surcharges to Superior Court cases -- as allowed under RCW 26.12.240 -- on December 30, 1993; and
WHEREAS, Lewis County Superior Court would like to enter into a contract with Candace Sanders, a Limited License Legal Technician (LLLT), for court facilitator services; and
WHEREAS, the Court Facilitator Contract would be in effect from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024, totaling $18,000 ($1,500.00 per month); and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has reviewed the Court Facilitator Contract between Lewis County and Candace Sanders, LLLT, for court facilitator services provided to pro se litigants in family law cases; and
WHEREAS, funds for this facilitation are collected through Superior Court filing fees; and
WHEREAS, it appears in the best public interest to authorize the execution of said contract for Lewis County.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the aforesaid Court Facilitator Contract is hereby approved, and the Superior Court Administrator, Susie Palmateer, is authorized to sign the same.
