APPROVE AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF CENTRALIA AND LEWIS COUNTY FOR MANAGEMENT OF STAGE 1 AND STAGE 2 FOR THE WESTSIDE CONNECTOR - PHASE I IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
WHEREAS, RCW 39.34.080 authorizes public agencies to perform governmental services, activities or undertakings that each public agency entering into the contract is authorized by law to perform, provided such contract shall be authorized by the governing body of each party to the contract; and
WHEREAS, Lewis County (County) and the City of Centralia (City) entered into a contract with HDR Engineering Inc. (Consultant) to provide engineering services for the first two stages of the Westside Connector - Phase 1 Improvement Project; and
WHEREAS, the County and the City desire the County to act as the contract manager to manage the Consultant and delivery of the Stage 1 and Stage 2 work; and
WHEREAS, the costs for the Stage 1 improvements will be split between the Parties with the County responsible for 20% and the City responsible for 80%. This will include all engineering, design and construction; and
WHEREAS, the costs for Stage 2 will be shared by both Parties, the County responsible for 50% and the City responsible for 50% with a total project amount not to exceed $1,000,000.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) approves the Interlocal Agreement between Lewis County and the City of Centralia and authorizes the Public Works Director to sign on behalf of Lewis County.
