WHEREAS, the at-large representative Corbin Foster, who was appointed to the Lewis County Planning Commission via Resolution 22-036, has stepped down creating a vacancy; and

WHEREAS, Lewis County Code (LCC) 2.11.030(3) and RCW 36.70.080 provide that each vacancy on the Planning Commission shall be filled by appointment by the Chair of the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) with the approval of a majority of the BOCC from a list of not less than one nominee residing in Lewis County; and

WHEREAS, LCC 2.11.030(5) and RCW 36.70.100 provide that members filling vacant unexpired terms shall serve to the end of the unexpired term, and LCC 2.11.030(5) and RCW 36.70.090 provide that members filling vacant expired terms shall serve the full term of four years for district positions and two years for the at-large position; and

WHEREAS, the at-large position is an unexpired term ending on December 31, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Roger Moore has indicated a willingness to serve on the Planning Commission; and

WHEREAS, it appears to be in the public interest to appoint Roger Moore to the Planning Commission.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Chair of the BOCC, with approval of a majority of the BOCC, hereby appoints one Planning Commission member as follows:

Roger Moore: At-large, to fill an unexpired vacant position with term ending on December 31, 2024.
