APPROVE THREE CHANGE ORDERS WITH MIDWAY UNDERGROUND FOR THE RAINIER BLOCK SITE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, 31-2309
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) approved a contract with Midway Underground in the amount of $898,000 for the Rainier Block Site Improvements Project, 31-2309, via Resolution 23-234 on July 25, 2023; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 23-232, the BOCC defines "Agreement" as a contract that binds Lewis County to a course of action, such as change orders, grant applications or contract amendments; and
WHEREAS, Resolution 23-232 further stipulates department heads must receive BOCC approval via resolution before entering into agreements that exceed $350,000 or increase the cumulative total to more than $350,000; and
WHEREAS, approval of Change Orders 1, 2 and 3 is needed to cumulatively increase the contract's maximum amount payable by $190,106.41, thus bringing the maximum amount payable for the Rainier Block Site Improvements Project, 31-2309, with Midway Underground to $1,088,106.41.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the BOCC hereby approves Change Order numbers 1, 2 and 3 to the Midway Underground, Rainier Site Improvements contract, bringing the total value of the contract for Project 31-2309 to $1,088,106.41 and ratifying the board chair and department head's signature.
