Resolution

WHEREAS, Lewis County Department of Community Development is responsible for maintaining the comprehensive plan and implementing ordinances; and

WHEREAS, Lewis County must perform periodic review and update of the comprehensive plan and implementing ordinances by June 30, 2025 (WAC 365-196-610); and

WHEREAS, on July 1, 2023, Lewis County became eligible for the Washington State Department of Commerce (Commerce) Periodic Update Grant (PUG) in the amount of $350,000 to be expended over two years; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Community Development did apply for the (PUG) on August 14, 2023 (Attachment B); and

WHEREAS, the Department of Community Development has been awarded the PUG to conduct periodic review and update the comprehensive plan and implementing ordinances.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has determined that the periodic review and update of the comprehensive plan and implementing ordinances is in the public’s best interest; and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the BOCC authorizes Mindy Brooks, Senior Long Range Planner, to sign the PUG agreement, in the amount of $350,000, as a designee for the Director of Community Development, Lee Napier.
