Summary:

The Washington State Department of Commerce Housing Division, Homelessness Assistance Unit (HAU) contracts with Lewis County through the Emergency Housing Fund (EHF) to oversee the administration of grant money to subcontractors for services provided to maintain current levels of emergency housing interventions that were established during the state of emergency (ESG-CV) funding.

This subcontract provides The Salvation Army funding for its night-by-night shelter, its Outreach efforts and its Rapid Re-Housing projects.

Resolution

WHEREAS, the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has reviewed Contract #T01-0205-23 between The Salvation Army and Lewis County; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Commerce contracts with Lewis County through the Emergency Housing Fund (EHF) to oversee the administration of grant money to subcontractors for services provided to maintain current levels of emergency housing interventions that were established during the state of emergency (ESG-CV) funding; and

WHEREAS, the purpose of this subcontract is to provide The Salvation Army funding for its Outreach efforts and its night-by-night shelter and Rapid Re-Housing projects; and

WHEREAS, the contract duration is July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024; and

WHEREAS, the total maximum consideration for this contract is $644,436; and

WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best public interest to authorize the execution of said contract for Lewis County.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the BOCC hereby approves Contract #T01-0205-23 to provide The Salvation Army funding totaling up to $644,436 for its Outreach efforts and its night-by-night shelter and Rapid Re-Housing projects; and the BOCC authorizes the Director of Public Health & Social Services to sign the same.
