Summary:

This resolution will ratify a contract with Landau Associates in the amount of $200,000, and approve a supplemental agreement that cumulatively increases a contract's maximum amount payable in 2023 by $550,000, thus bringing the maximum amount payable for the On-Call Geotechnical Engineering consultant agreement (GEO2023) with Landau and Associates to $750,000.

Resolution

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 21-038, appointed directors of each of the county departments subject to the authority of the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) are delegated authority to execute and bind Lewis County to consulting services contracts, projects, agreements, grant applications, contract amendments and change orders involving the actual expenditure and/or receipt of up to $200,000 per project, per year on a cumulative annual basis provided that, by resolution, the BOCC ratifies such contracts, projects, agreements, grant applications, contract amendments, and change orders in excess of $50,000 but less than $200,000; and

WHEREAS, a contract between the County and Landau Associates was executed on February 15, 2023, with a maximum amount payable of $200,000. This initial contract amount has been allocated to final design for a slide repair on Carr Road and Meade Hill Road and slide monitoring on Spencer Road; and

WHEREAS, approval of Supplemental Agreement No. 1 is needed to increase the GEO2023's maximum amount payable, for 2023, by $550,000 to a new maximum amount payable of $750,000 for task orders related to: slide monitoring and analysis on Rogers Road (FEMA); additional drilling, monitoring, and alternatives analysis for Spencer Road Slide (FEMA); drilling, monitoring, and alternatives analysis for Burnett Road Slide (FEMA); drilling and analysis for Evans Road culvert replacement (FEMA); and reserve for future projects.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that contract GEO2023 between the County and Landau Associates, with a maximum amount payable by $200,000, is ratified; and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Supplemental Agreement No. 1, bringing the total increases of GEO2023 in 2023 to $750,000, is hereby approved, and the BOCC and authorizes the Director of Public Works to sign on its behalf.
