Resolution

WHEREAS, U. S. Code: Title 42, Chapter 116, Section 11003 a-g and the provisions of SARA Title III (or EPCRA), 1986, require the designation of a Lewis County Community Emergency Coordinator (CEC) to implement the provisions of the Emergency Support Function (ESF) # 10 - Hazardous Materials Emergency Response Plan of the Lewis County Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP); and

WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the citizens of Lewis County to provide for the duties of a Community Emergency Coordinator (CEC) and Alternate to coordinate hazardous materials planning; and

WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of Lewis County to appoint a CEC and Alternate to implement the provisions of  the ESF # 10 - Hazardous Materials Emergency Response Plan and receive notice of spills occurring in Lewis County; and

WHEREAS, the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) has made a recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners that Emergency Management Deputy Director Andy Caldwell be appointed to the position of Community Emergency Coordinator (CEC) and William Teitzel as CEC Alternate.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Andy Caldwell, Deputy Director of Emergency Management, is hereby appointed as the Lewis County Community Emergency Coordinator, and William Teitzel is appointed as the Lewis County Community Emergency Coordinator Alternate for 2020-2021.
