Summary:Department of Social & Health Services, Developmental Disabilities Administration contracts with Lewis County to administer funding for developmental disabilities services. This contract provides funding for supported employment, community inclusion, child development services, county administration, training, and community education activities.
The purpose of this amendment is to add funds to support the implementation and delivery of concurrent employment and community inclusion services as directed in HB1980 as well as updating policies relevant to the administration of this contract.

APPROVE AMENDMENT #2163-23564-2 TO AGREEMENT BETWEEN LEWIS COUNTY AND THE WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL AND HEALTH SERVICES (DSHS), DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES ADMINISTRATION (DDA)
WHEREAS, the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has reviewed Amendment #2163-23564-2 between Lewis County and the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS), Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA); and
WHEREAS, Amendment #2163-23564-2 increases funding by $248,038 for a new total maximum consideration of $2,116,028; and
WHEREAS, this amendment also updates policies relevant to the administration of this contract; and
WHEREAS, the duration of this contract is July 1, 2021, through June 30, 2023; and
WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best public interest to authorize the execution of said contract for Lewis County.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the BOCC hereby approves Amendment #2163-23564-2 to the agreement with DSHS DDA to increase funding by $248,038 for a new total maximum consideration of $2,116,028 and update policies relevant to the administration of this contract through June 30, 2023; and the BOCC authorizes the Director of Public Health & Social Services or her designee to sign the same.
