Summary:Approve and Authorize the Public Works Director to sign a Professional Services Agreement with Gibbs and Olson Engineering for Design, Permitting, Bidding, and Construction Services for the installation of approximately 8,500 linear feet of 8-inch AWWA C900 polyvinyl chloride (PVC) water main within the potable water system serving the City of Vader. The new water main will replace existing 6-inch and smaller asbestos cement (AC) water main at various locations throughout the County's Vader water system service area.

APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO SIGN A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH GIBBS & OLSON ENGINEERING FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO THE COUNTY'S VADER-ENCHANTED VALLEY WATER SYSTEM
WHEREAS, a Request for Proposals (RFP) was published in The Chronicle and the Daily Journal of Commerce (Seattle) on November 10 and 17, 2022, for Design, Permitting, Bidding, and Construction Services for the installation of approximately 8,500 linear feet of 8-inch AWWA C900 Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) water main within the potable water system serving the City of Vader. The new water main will replace existing 6-inch and smaller asbestos cement (AC) water main at various locations throughout Lewis County's Vader-Enchanted Valley Water System in Vader, Washington; and
WHEREAS, Lewis County received proposals from four (4) engineering firms: Civil West Engineering, CobbFendley Engineering, Gibbs & Olson engineering, and Windsor Engineers; and
WHEREAS, Gibbs & Olson Engineering, with supporting sub-consultants (collectively referred to as the Consultant), has been selected as the most qualified consultant for delivery of design, permitting, bidding, and construction services for the improvements to the County's Vader-Enchanted Valley Water System in Vader, Washington.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) approves the contract in the amount of $500,000.00 with Gibbs & Olson Engineering for the County's Vader-Enchanted Valley Water System improvements in Vader, Washington, and authorizes the Public Works Director to sign the Professional Services Agreement.
