Summary:

Authorizes the IT Director to sign a purchase order with Dell, for a bulk computer replacement purchase.  IT purchases routine computer replacements in bulk to recognize cost savings and to ensure our equipment is refreshed on an appropriate schedule.

WHEREAS, the County has approximately 750 computer systems deployed across its networks; and

WHEREAS, as a local governmental agency, Lewis County has the ability to purchase these products at a discounted rate through the Department of Enterprise Solutions (DES), and NASPO ValuePoint contracts, contract Nos. C000000010849 & NASPO MNWNC-108 / 05815-003; and

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) approved the purchase and ongoing equipment replacement and repair through the IT Services inter-fund rates; and

WHEREAS, the BOCC has granted department directors the authority to bind the county in amounts totaling $50,000 to $200,000 with BOCC approval, as outlined in Resolution No. 21-038.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the Board of County Commissioners hereby authorizes the Director of Information Technology Services, or his designee, to complete a purchase order, pursuant to the attached quote, with Dell Inc., that is in excess of the above-mentioned $50,000 limitation.
