Resolution

WHEREAS, under Resolution 21-038, Section 2, the Board of County Commissioners has granted authority for appointed department directors to enter into agreements greater than $50,000 but less than $200,000 with post-execution ratification by the Board of County Commissioners; and

WHEREAS, Lewis County Risk Management entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Lewis County Department of Emergency Management to provide Safety Officer services for Lewis County with a estimated budget impact of $55,579 for the year 2023; and

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has adopted policy to establish and conduct an effective and continuous safety program incorporating education and monitoring procedures to teach safety, correct deficiencies and provide a safe, clean working environment; and

WHEREAS, Lewis County, as a member of the Washington Counties Risk Pool, is required to identify and maintain a designated Safety Officer for the County; and

WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the public to authorize the approval of the memorandum of understanding between Lewis County Department of Emergency Management and Lewis County Risk Management to perform Safety Officer Services.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the Board of County Commissioners approves post-execution ratification of a memorandum of understanding between Lewis County Department of Emergency Management and Lewis County Risk Management for Safety Officer services.
