Summary:

This is the primary source of youth substance abuse prevention funding from the Washington Healthcare Authority (HCA/DBHR), used to fund our two prevention coalitions and their work in Centralia and Morton. Typical programs funded by this contract are parenting education, youth mentoring programs, and special prevention events/marketing. LCPHSS has held this contract for several years. Amendment 4 would increase the funds available under this contract.

Wording/In the matter of:

APPROVE CPWI PREVENTION AMENDMENT 4 BETWEEN WASHINGTON HEALTH CARE AUTHORITY (HCA), DIVISION OF BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND RECOVERY (DBHR) AND LEWIS COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH AND SOCIAL SERVICES (PHSS)

WHEREAS, the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has reviewed Amendment 4 between Washington Health Care Authority (HCA), Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery (DBHR) and Lewis County Public Health and Social Services (PHSS) for the period of September 30, 2022, through June 30, 2023; and

WHEREAS, this agreement is the primary source of youth substance abuse prevention funding from HCA/DBHR, used to fund two prevention coalitions and their work in Centralia and Morton. Typical programs funded by this contract are parenting education, youth mentoring programs and special prevention events/marketing; and

WHEREAS, the purpose of this amendment is to increase the funds available under this contract $82,500 for a new contract total of $1,055,928; and

WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best public interest to authorize the execution of said contract for Lewis County.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Contract #K3925 Amendment 4 between HCA/DBHR and Lewis County PHSS in the amount of $82,500 for a total amount of $1,055,928 effective September 30, 2022, through June 30, 2023, is hereby approved, and the Director of Public Health & Social Services is authorized to sign the same.
