The Information Technology 5-year Strategic Plan shows the need to to implement a SIEM to provide real-time monitoring and analysis of events as well as tracking and logging of security data for compliance, auditing, and potential security threats and vulnerabilities.

AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES TO EXECUTE A PURCHASE ORDER WITH SHI INTERNATIONAL CORP FOR SECURITY INFORMATION AND EVENT MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE LICENSES
WHEREAS, Lewis County Information Technology Services is responsible for addressing cyber security threats; and
WHEREAS, Lewis County Information Technology Services is also responsible for information logging services for compliance and auditing; and
WHEREAS, as a local governmental agency, Lewis County has the ability to purchase these licenses and services at a discounted rate through the Department of Enterprise Solutions (DES), Agreement #K1998, and NASPO ValuePoint contracts, contract Nos. 05116 and AR2488; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has granted department directors the authority to bind the county in amounts totaling $50,000 to $200,000 with BOCC approval, as outlined in Resolution No. 21-038.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the Board of County Commissioners hereby authorizes the Director of Information Technology Services, or his designee, to complete a purchase order with SHI International Corp in the amount of $88,614.16 + applicable sales tax that is in excess of the above-mentioned $50,000 limitation.
