Information
The purchase is $460,000, plus due diligence and miscellaneous closing costs. Temporarily covered by an unrestricted Capital fund in the general fund (or perhaps an interfund loan from REET 2 into that capital fund), the County will seek a Rapid Capital Housing Acquisition grant from the Washington Department of Commerce to reimburse these costs. Application for the grant opens at the end of the month. In the absence of the grant, there are multiple backup funding sources including but not limited to a private mortgage. Even a private mortgage at market rates would be less expensive than renting.
