WHEREAS, the Lewis County Coroner's Office would be overwhelmed in the event of a Mass Fatality Incident with 10 or more decedents; and

WHEREAS, the Lewis County Coroner's Office has a maximum storage capacity of 15 (fifteen) decedents and uses one local mortuary for transports; and

WHEREAS, First Call Plus has a decedent storage capacity of 900 (nine hundred) and can provide transport for multiple decedents at one time; and

WHEREAS, First Call Plus can also provide an auxiliary autopsy suite and administrative office space in the event the Coroner's Office is in the affected zone.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners supports the 2020 contract between the Lewis County Coroner's Office and First Call Plus at the rate of $276 per decedent removed (one-way).
