Summary:

This contract is an agreement between the Community Action Council and Lewis County PHSS to hire a full-time care coordinator to provide comprehensive wrap-around support to child abuse victims and their non-offending family members before, during, and after the forensic interview and throughout the entire criminal and CPS investigations. The position will also support child abuse prevention education programs throughout Lewis County.

Resolution

WHEREAS, the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has reviewed the contract #YAC-CC-22-23 with Community Action Council to provide comprehensive wrap-around support to child abuse victims and their non-offending family members before, during, and after the forensic interview and throughout the entire criminal and CPS investigations; and

WHEREAS, these services will allow for the hiring of a care coordinator who will also support child abuse prevention education programs throughout Lewis County; and

WHEREAS, the contract duration is September 1, 2022, through August 31, 2023; and

WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best public interest to authorize the execution of said contract.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that contract #YAC-CC-22-23 between Lewis County and Community Action Council to provide comprehensive wrap-around support to child abuse victims and their non-offending family members before, during, and after the forensic interview and throughout the entire criminal and CPS investigations from September 1, 2022, through August 31, 2023, is hereby approved, and the Interim Director of Public Health and Social Services is authorized to sign the same.
