Summary:

A call for bids for the Salzer Valley Road Rock Proposal project, SM 20F150510535 was made on July 30, 2022. The project was advertised in the Chronicle and on Lewis County's website. Public Works received three bids for this project on August 15, 2022. Sterling Breen Crushing, Inc. provided the lowest responsive bid for Item No. 1 of $173,301.98, Item No. 2 of $9,499.88, and Item No. 3 of $3,001.15.  Good Crushing Inc. provided the lowest responsive bid for Item No. 4 of $39,850.97.  

Public Works recommends awarding Item No. 1, 2, and 3 to the lowest responsive bidder, Sterling Breen Crushing.  Public Works recommends awarding Item No. 4 to the lowest bidder, Good Crushing Inc.

WHEREAS, a call for bids was issued July 30, 2022, for the Salzer Valley Road Rock Proposal, SM 20F150510535; and

WHEREAS, bid quotations have been submitted from the contractors as follows:

WHEREAS, Sterling Breen Crushing Inc. provided the lowest responsive bid quote for Item 1 of $173,301.98, Item 2 of $9,499.88 and Item 3 of $3,001.15; and Good Crushing Inc. provided the lowest responsive bid quote for Item 4 of $39,850.97 for the Salzer Valley Road Rock Proposal project, SM 20F150510535.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the contract for the Salzer Valley Road Rock Proposal project, SM 20F150510535, shall be awarded to Sterling Breen Crushing Inc. in the amount of $173,301.98 for Item 1, $9,499.88 for Item 2 and $3,001.15 for Item 3; and awarded to Good Crushing Inc. in the amount of $39,850.97 for Item 4 upon the execution of a contract acceptable to the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC). Upon presentation of such a contract, the County Engineer is authorized to sign on behalf of the BOCC.
