Resolution
APPROVE THE SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT WASTE REDUCTION AND RECYCLING EDUCATION AGREEMENT NO. SWMWRRED-1921-LECSWU-00024 WITH THE WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF ECOLOGY (ECOLOGY)
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), Lewis County, Washington, has reviewed the Solid Waste Management Waste Reduction and Recycling Education Agreement (SWMWRRED) between Lewis County and Ecology; and
WHEREAS, the grant agreement will provide a total of $80,000.00 in funds to implement a contamination reduction and outreach plan for recycling and organics programs and to develop a food waste prevention program in Lewis County. Ecology will provide $60,000.00 and a match of $20,000.00 will be provided by the recipient; and
WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best public interest to authorize the execution of said contract.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the BOCC has approved and authorized the Director of Public Works to sign and execute agreement No. SWMWRRED-1921-LeSWU-00024 between Lewis County and Ecology for $80,000.00 from September 1, 2019 through June 30, 2021.
