Resolution

WHEREAS, RCW 36.01.010 allows counties to contract as may be necessary within their administrative powers; and

WHEREAS, the State Department of Commerce (Commerce) will provide $750,000 through their Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) General Purpose Grant program to Lewis County Department of Public Works to construct Phase II of the Mossyrock fire and life safety facility with Lewis County Fire District #3 as the subrecipient; and

WHEREAS, the County Engineer has reviewed Grant Contract No. 19-62210-028 for $750,000; and

WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best public interest to authorize the execution of the contract with Commerce to enhance fire and safety services in Lewis County.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the BOCC has approved and authorized the Director of Public Works to sign and execute Contract No. 19-62210-028 according to the scope required under the Commerce Contract.
