Resolution

WHEREAS, the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has identified a need to hire a Health Officer; and

WHEREAS, the Public Health and Social Services (PHSS) Advisory Committee helped develop a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the position; and

WHEREAS, the RFQ packet, which includes information regarding the scope of services, the work required and the education / experience requirements, can be found online at https://lewiscountywa.gov/media/documents/Lewis_Health_Officer_RFQ_Final.pdf; and

WHEREAS, application packets must be submitted via email to boh@lewiscountywa.gov by 5 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2022; and

WHEREAS, questions regarding the position or process can be emailed to that same email address (boh@lewiscountywa.gov) by 5 p.m. April 19, 2022, and will be published -- and answered -- online at https://lewiscountywa.gov/departments/public-health/blog/; and

WHEREAS, the Clerk of the Board sent a legal notice regarding the RFQ to The Chronicle for publication, with publication of the legal notice slated for April 14, 2022.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the BOCC hereby provides after-the-fact ratification that the Public Health and Social Services (PHSS) Director developed an RFQ and that the Clerk of the Board proceeded with all all appropriate and necessary notifications to advertise for said purpose; and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that after the responses have been reviewed and a potential selection made, a contract will be negotiated with the qualified applicant, subject to Board of Health and / or BOCC approval.
