Resolution

WHEREAS, Lewis County desires to explore and potentially seek grant funding for the establishment of a county water bank to provide for residential, industrial, or commercial development possibilities in the future as water supplies tighten; and

WHEREAS, the expertise of a qualified consultant, firm, or attorney is important in this technical subject area; and

WHEREAS, formal competition is not required for such services, but informal competition via a solicitation to a reasonable pool of qualified entities is advisable to safeguard local taxpayer funds and comply with audit.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED County Staff are directed to solicit consultant services regarding the establishment of and potential grant funding for a county water bank.
