Resolution

WHEREAS, Lewis County is authorized to operate parks and recreational facilities pursuant to RCW Chapter 36.68; and

WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best interest of Lewis County to establish a new fund to record revenues and expenditures related to Parks and Recreation; and

WHEREAS, the new fund will account for the maintenance, operations and capital projects related to the parks and grounds owned by Lewis County, event management, as well as promotion of tourism through the Discover Lewis County program. Activities may include, but are not limited to: building or grounds rental, storage, community activities or events, livestock and animal shows or sales, camping/parking, housing for resident caretaker/park hosts, races, livestock shows or sales, grandstand events as well as events that are hosted by others and held on the grounds; and

WHEREAS, the Parks & Recreation Department may host, manage or promote recreational activities for the community throughout the county.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that a special revenue fund to be known as Parks and Recreation Fund No. 1160 is hereby established to account for and report financial resources that are restricted or committed for this purpose.
