This resolution will approve an agreement between the State of Washington Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) on behalf of the Salmon Recovery Funding Board (SRFB) and Lewis County for the MF Newaukum at Centralia Alpha Fish Passage Construction project in the amount of $888,672.00.

Wording/In the matter of:

APPROVE A GRANT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE STATE OF WASHINGTON RECREATION AND CONSERVATION OFFICE (RCO) AND LEWIS COUNTY FOR THE MF NEWAUKUM AT CENTRALIA ALPHA FISH PASSAGE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT

WHEREAS, Public Works has listed fish passage restoration projects on the maintenance program; and

WHEREAS, Public Works has received grant funding administered through the State of Washington Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) for the MF Newaukum at Centralia Alpha Fish Passage Construction (Centralia Alpha Road MP 15.79), RCO #21-1035R, CMP 1810, in the amount of $888,672.00 ($177,734.00 from Salmon Recovery Funding Board and $710,938.00 from Brian Abbott Fish Barrier Removal Board); and

WHEREAS, the conditions of receiving the grant funding require an agreement signed by the Chair of the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC); and

WHEREAS, the Public Works County Engineer has reviewed the agreement between Lewis County and the RCO.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the BOCC has determined that proceeding with the project for the MF Newaukum at Centralia Alpha Fish Passage Construction (Centralia Alpha Road MP 15.79), RCO #21-1035R, CMP 1810, is in the best public interest and hereby approves the Chair of the BOCC to sign the agreement.
