Summary:This resolution will approve a consultant contract with Northwest Hydraulic Consultants, Inc. to provide engineering design, permitting, and other support services to address the bank erosion threatening the roadway on Shorey Road between MP 0.598 and 0.618. This project seeks to develop a long-term protection project to be completed in the August-September 2022 fish construction window. The total amount authorized is $306,519 with a management reserve of $30,000 for a maximum amount payable of $336,519.

APPROVE A CONSULTANT CONTRACT WITH NORTHWEST HYDRAULIC CONSULTANTS INC. (NHC) FOR DESIGN SERVICES FOR THE SHOREY ROAD BANK STABILIZATION PROJECT, CRP 2159O, FEDERAL AID #ER-2101(001)
WHEREAS, a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) was published in The Chronicle on October 6, 2021, and October 13, 2021, for preliminary engineering design, permitting and other support services for the Shorey Road Bank Stabilization project at MP 0.598-0.69, CRP 2159O, Federal Aid #ER-2101(001); and
WHEREAS, one RFQ was received from Northwest Hydraulic Consultants Inc. (NHC); the qualifications were reviewed and evaluated by Public Works Engineers; and
WHEREAS, NHC, with supporting subconsultants Exeltech Consulting, Landau Associates, and Cultural Resource Consultants (collectively referred to as the Consultant), has been selected as the Consultant for the Shorey Road Bank Stabilization project; and
WHEREAS, the contract will authorize $306,519 for professional services, with a management reserve fund of $30,000, for a maximum amount payable of $336,519.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) approves the contract with Northwest Hydraulic Consultants, Inc. (NHC) for the Shorey Road Bank Stabilization project, CRP 2159O, and authorizes the Public Works Director to sign the contract.
