WHEREAS, on February 7, 2018, Lewis County and Butler Amusements Inc. entered into a five-year agreement for Butler Amusement to provide carnival activities at the Southwest Washington Fair; and

WHEREAS, said agreement has a clause that allows for a series of two-year extensions of said agreement upon the approval of both parties if requested within 30 days of the last day of December 2021; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Parks & Recreation did request and Butler Amusement did agree to enter into said extension timely; and

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has reviewed the requested two-year Personal Services Agreement extension for years 2023 and 2024, continuing at the same compensation terms with a contract guaranteed minimum of $75,000; and

WHEREAS, it is in the best public interest to authorize the Personal Service Agreement extension between Lewis County and Butler Amusements Inc.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the BOCC authorizes the two-year Personal Service Agreement extension between Lewis County and Butler Amusement Inc. and that the Director of Parks & Recreation is authorized to sign said agreement on behalf of the BOCC.
