Resolution

WHEREAS, RCW 36.01.010 allows counties to contract as may be necessary within their administrative powers; and

WHEREAS, the State Department of Commerce (Commerce) will provide $900,000 through their Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) General Purpose Grant program to Lewis County Department of Public Works to construct a new water reservoir with Water District No. 1 as the subrecipient; and

WHEREAS, the County Engineer has reviewed Grant Contract No. 21-62210-032 for $900,000; and

WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best public interest to authorize the execution of the contract with Commerce to provide a new water reservoir within Lewis County.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the BOCC has approved and authorized the Director of Public Works to sign and execute Contract No. 21-62210-032 according to the scope required under the Commerce Contract.
