Resolution

WHEREAS, the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) entered into grant agreement No. GRT21031 (Exhibit A) with the Washington State Office of Public Defense for a limited grant funding opportunity for the period of June 1, 2021, through December 31, 2021, on May 18, 2021, via Resolution 21-200 in the amount of $84,396.00; and

WHEREAS, the grant funding is for representation of individuals seeking to obtain orders to vacate felony convictions or have felony resentencing hearings pursuant to State v. Blake, 481 P.3d 521 (2021); and

WHEREAS, this amendment serves to clarify Section 4, Use of Funds of the Special Terms and Conditions of Agreement No. GRT21031; and

WHEREAS, Lewis County may spend funds that were awarded in May 2021 for expenses incurred for approved uses on or after February 25, 2021, through December 31, 2021; and

WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best public interest to authorize the execution of said agreement amendment for Lewis County.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the aforesaid amended agreement with the Washington State Office of Public Defense clarifying Use of Funds of the Special Terms and Conditions of Agreement No. GRT21031 is hereby approved and the Chair of the Board is authorized to sign the same.
