Resolution

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 20-415, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) adopted the 2021-2026 Six-Year Transportation Improvement Program on the 16th day of November, 2020; and

WHEREAS, the following projects are listed as priorities using Surface Transportation Program (STP) federal funding:

King MP 12.26 Bridge Scour Project, STP(BR) - $837,00 

Sargent MP 1.33 Bridge Scour Project, STP(BR) - $918,000

Total STP(BR) federal aid project funding - $1,755,100; and

WHEREAS, the conditions of receiving Federal Highway Administration STP federal funding requires a Local Agency Agreement and Federal Aid Prospectus signed by the Chair of the BOCC prior to commencing the project; and

WHEREAS, the Public Works Director and County Engineer have reviewed Local Agency Agreements and Federal Aid Project Prospectuses between Lewis County and WSDOT for the King Road (CRP-2159M) and Sargent Road (CRP-2159N) bridge scour projects, and recommend proceeding with both projects.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the BOCC has determined that proceeding with the said projects to be in the best public interest and hereby approves the Local Agency Agreements and Federal Aid Project Prospectuses for the King Road (CRP-2159M) and Sargent Road (CRP-2159N) bridge scour projects, and the Chair of the BOCC is authorized to sign the same.
