Resolution

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has held the authority to transfer airport leases at Lewis County Airports; and

WHEREAS, the operation and management of the airports within Lewis County has been transferred to the Public Works Department; and

WHEREAS, the terms of the airport lease agreement allows for such assignment and transfer, and leases at the airport are bound by long-term agreements that are unchanged between lease assignments; and

WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best interest of the citizens of Lewis County that lease authority transfers be approved and administered by Public Works.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that lease transfer authority vested with the BOCC will now be an administrative function completed by the Public Works Department; and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the BOCC authorizes the Director of Public Works to execute the lease assignment and sign on behalf of Lewis County.
