Summary:

Lewis County plans to conduct bank stabilization on Newaukum Valley Road from  milepost 1.085 to 1.105 It will be necessary to close Newaukum Valley Road to all through traffic during this period. Newaukum Valley Road will remain open for local access from either end up to, but not beyond, the point of closure. This resolution would, pursuant to RCW 47.48.010 and .020, close Newaukum Valley Road from  milepost 1.085 to 1.105 in Section 16, Township 13 North, Range 2 West, W.M. Beginning August 12, 2021 and ending September 30, 2021.

Resolution

WHEREAS, RCW 47.48.010 gives authority to the county legislative authority to close roads for a period of time; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary for Lewis County to conduct bank stabilization on Newaukum Valley Road from  milepost 1.085 to 1.105; and

WHEREAS, it will be necessary to close Newaukum Valley Road 350 feet on each side of the scoured area, to all through traffic during the period of such project work; and

WHEREAS, Newaukum Valley Road will remain open for local access up to, but not beyond, the point of closure and alternate routes are available to access residences beyond the closure.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that, pursuant to RCW 47.48.010 and .020, beginning August 12, 2021, and ending September 30, 2021, Newaukum Valley Road from  milepost 1.085 to 1.105 in Section 16, Township 13 North, Range 2 West, W.M., shall be closed to all through traffic.
