Summary:

This project is for the construction of sand sheds at 3 sites in Lewis County (Lincoln Creek, Lebo, and Mineral Creek) for use of storing snow sand. The contractor shall construct the sand sheds per the engineered building plans for each site.

A call for bids was made on September 23, 2019. The project was advertised in The Chronicle and the Daily Journal of Commerce, Seattle. The project was also listed on Lewis County's website. Public Works received 4 bids for this project on October 15, 2019. Bishop Contracting, LLC provided the lowest responsive bid of $239,148.91. The engineer's estimate was $250,881.65. Public Works recommends acceptance of the low bid provided by Bishop Contracting, LLC.

Resolution approval will award the Sand Sheds Construction Project, FEMA Project No. DR-4309 PW 238, County Project No. 90-17F509100443B to Bishop Contracting, LLC for a total of $239,148.91.

Resolution Number: 19-306

WHEREAS, Pursuant to Resolution 19-264, a call for bids was issued on September 23, 2019 for the Sand Sheds Construction Project, FEMA Project No. DR-4309 PW 238, County Project No. 90-17F509100443B; and

WHEREAS, Bid quotations have been submitted from contractors as follows:

WHEREAS, Bishop Contracting, LLC provided the lowest responsive bid quote for $239,148.91 for the Sand Sheds Construction Project, FEMA Project No. DR-4309 PW 238, County Project No. 90-17F509100443B.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the contract for the Sand Sheds Construction Project, FEMA Project No. DR-4309 PW 238, County Project No. 90-17F509100443B, shall be awarded to Bishop Contracting, LLC in the amount of $239,148.91 upon the execution of a contract acceptable to the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC). Upon presentation of such a contract, the County Engineer is authorized to sign on behalf of the BOCC.
